Our Kaupapa:
The Waiheke Haven Story

The idea for Waiheke Haven was born from a deep understanding of the challenges new whānau face in the immediate postpartum period.

Having grown up on Waiheke, our co-founder Rachael felt called back to the motu from overseas when birthing her own children. She realised that the deep connection to the whenua was more than just about being home; it was the peace and healing nature of the motu.

Now as a practicing LMC midwife on Waiheke Island. Rachael observed a significant gap in our national healthcare system for a place of rest and dedicated care—a true haven where families could recover without the daily stressors of home life.

Our journey began with a simple mission: to provide a restorative and supportive environment that empowers parents to bond with their new pēpē.

A Vision for Our Community

We are more than just a place to stay; we are a community built on care.
